Where can I get your CV?

My CV is not public, if you would like to get in touch. Please do through my StackOverflow page.

Are there any Cookies or trackers?

Not on my site!

I don't really care that someone from Peru has navigated to my site at 3:30am in the morning. Or I've had twelve visitors from Antarctica over the past month.

Favourite Browser?

Firefox, especially after the refactoring they did in 2018. I would really recommend Firefox Quantum. Especially in a world that is being dominated by Chrome, we are at risk of turning the web backwards with sites that are only compatible to certain browsers and restrictions on user freedoms.

I am also using Brave browser on occasion, its really cool and you should check it out.

First experience programming?

Modifying .INI files for the PC game Command and Conquer: Red Alert, it was fun making units invincible and understanding how configurations can cause funny side effects in a game engine.

Why tomaytotomato.com?

First and foremost I am a big fan of tomatos; they're a versatile fruit.

Secondly it expresses my sentiments over how some people get carried away with minutia such as pronounciations or small technicalities e.g. Jif vs. Gif, mixing ketchup with mayonaise.

Developers love to get caught up on these details, I now try to be more pragmatic.

Favourite TV shows?

Silicon Valley, Firefly, Stargate, Game of Thrones, Chuck, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul

Favourite tech sites?

Favourite destination?

Brazil; great people, climate, nature, food and lifestyle.

Nuclear energy?

Yes, in our world of increasing energy security concerns and emissions from convential fossil fuels driving climate change, we need to support and continue nuclear energy research and development.

In fact one of those areas of research (Molten Salt Reactors) started in the 60s, but was shelved until recently. More info here:- http://www.transatomicpower.com/

A lot of people have misguided fears of nuclear and radiation. In fact you could argue that the fear of radiation is more deadly than being exposed to low doses.

Why are you not on Twitter etc. ?

I'd rather have my own views and content published to a platform that I can control and maintain. Producing my content on a Medium blog or a Facebook page means that I am making money for another company and also potentially restricting my content to their platform.
